We are looking for the best Sports and Community Development Manager to make things happen for our customers in our Braintree and Rochford divisions. The role is full time working 40 hours per week, paying £24,000 per annum.

You will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and working with a diverse and dynamic team within a fast paced environment.

The company

We work in collaboration with our partners in your community to provide recreational sport, health and fitness activities. A registered charity, we formed in April 2000 with a handful of facilities in Southwark. Since then we have consistently made a surplus (profit) each year which means we have been able to put that back into improving our facilities. We now have nearly 80 facilities nationwide including swimming pools and health and fitness centres and even an ice rink, an outdoor sports centre and indoor bowls centres.

The role

You will be responsible for:

* leading the development and implementation of Fusion's sports and community development plan within the Division, ensuring that Fusion's facilities play an important role in their local communities and contribute fully to the sports and community development objectives of Fusion and its Local Authority Partner .
* developing, promoting and increasing opportunities for children and young adults to participate in positive sport, health and physical activity programmes at the leisure centres. Leading with the co-ordination and development of sports and leisure programmes throughout the Borough, including partnerships with voluntary and commercial sports organisations, community colleges and other educational organisations
* creating, implementing and reviewing sports- and activity-specific development plans within the Division in line with corporate development plans and the corporate sports and community development strategy

The candidate

The experience and background you will need is:

* Degree in sports development or related field of study
* Previous experience of planning and delivering sports and community development activities within a multi-site business
* Experience of managing people
* The ability to combine clear strategic thinking with practical and effective implementation
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task
* Excellent project management skills
* Working knowledge of relevant sports and leisure agendas
* Knowledge of healthy living concepts and ideals
* Understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities and managing diversity
