Community Activity Development Officer, Malvern Hills

£24158.92 per annum

Freedom Leisure has a new job opportunity for an enthusiastic Community Activity & Development Officer, to be based in the Malvern Hills area.

What will you be doing?

Key aspects of the role will include:

  • To increase sport and wellbeing participation within the local district, primarily but not exclusively through activities at the leisure centres and though outreach into the rural communities
  • To ensure a planned approach to sport and physical activity development, in conjunction with local community groups
  • To contribute to the financial success of the leisure centres through sustainable sporting and wellbeing activities
  • To promote and develop a wide-ranging sport and wellbeing programme to increase participation for all sections of the community, with projects targeting underrepresented groups
  • To assist with the development and management of the Sport & Activity Development program, ensuring its implementation in line with the corporate strategy
  • To establish and manage data collection to obtain a true reflection of participation in the contract area.

What are we looking for?

You’ll be a Sports Development professional with around 2 years experience, a level 1 qualification in at least 1 sport from a National Governing body, drive and enthusiasm to make a difference in the local community.  You’ll also be mobile to travel around sites and have a full clean driving license to drive the community bus when required.

The Malvern Hills area has a strong rural community and you will need an understanding of rural needs and ideally some experience working with this client group.
