Recreation Assistants (lifeguards), Crowborough Leisure Centre

Up to £6.50 per hour

Crowborough Leisure Centre has recently benefitted from a complete refurbishment including new swimming pool, changing rooms and cafe/reception areas. Crowborough has a new gym and activity studios.    

What will you be doing?

At Freedom Leisure our lifeguards are central to the highest safety and customer service standards that we provide to our customers.  You will responsible for:

• ensuring that all swimmers are safe during their time with us
• ensuring that the pool and changing room areas are clean and tidy
• deal with any customer queries in a friendly and professional way
• work in other areas of the centre to set up and take down equipment
• provide support to other activities that take place during the day

We work shifts that include weekends and evenings.

What are we looking for?

To be a lifeguard you will need to be a strong swimmer and to pass a swim competency test which includes being able to dive to the bottom of the pool; swim 50 metres on your front in 60 seconds and 100 metres continuously on your front and back.  You will also need to be able to tread water for 30 seconds in deep water.

In addition to this you will need an excellent understanding of customer service and be able to relate to customers of all ages.  GCSE’s in English and Maths will also be an advantage to you.
