Catering Manager, Guildford, salary up to £33,201.95

A brand new role has been created at Freedom Leisure due to an exciting new development in catering at Guildford Spectrum.  Freedom Leisure is the largest provider of community leisure in the South.

Your responsibilities will be varied and include:

Manage the catering outlets at Guildford Spectrum – to manage a large catering operation across 5 outlets, including hospitality catering to over 100 corporate events a year.

Health, safety and food hygiene - to ensure the highest possible food standards ratings, ensure consistently high levels of cleanliness and hygiene.

Business Management - to manage the Profit & Loss, to generate a surplus whilst ensuring the highest level of service to our customers.  To manage effective portion control; stock rotation; reducing waste and liaising with suppliers.

Staff Management - to ensure that work standards and performance are at the highest level through the effective recruitment, day to day supervision and development of the catering staff team.

Who are we looking for?

You will be an experienced Catering Manager with experience of managing multiple outlets.  The person we are looking for will have the ability to manage a number of priorities at the same time; will be able to lead and motivate staff and have a passion for the Catering industry.  In addition to this you will demonstrate the following in your application:

• Previous experience in a Catering Management role (ideally 3 years or more)
• Experience of managing Food Hygiene/compliance systems and processes.
• Commercial awareness with experience of managing and delivering targets
• Excellent IT skills to be able to produce and interpret reports and data
• Awareness of industry developments and trends
• Problem solving, customer service and staff management experience

You will also ideally be degree educated or have a higher level qualification in Catering, a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and GCSE’s in Maths and English.  Experience of a leisure environment will be an advantage although not essential.
