Pastry Commis Chef - Eastbourne

The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne are recruiting for an imaginative PASTRY COMMIS CHEF to join our Kitchen team When you join us:

• You will join the brigade of 21 chefs producing quality fresh dishes
• You will be based in the Pastry section which services a number of Food and Beverage outlets including the Garden Restaurant, Room Service, Banqueting and Lounges, and on occasion different events can be running simultaneously.
• You will have an ideal opportunity to develop and grow as a chef and improve your skills in a busy, five star environment.
• You will be working straight shifts, five days over seven, including weekends and evenings

Interview will include a work trial. Please note the salary offered is for a 47 hour contract. What we need from you:

• Level 2 NVQ in Professional Cookery, or equivalent
• At least one year's experience in a similar environment, with a good understanding of all basic techniques and an ability to deliver to an excellent standard.
• A desire to develop yourself and show passion and creativity in your work
• A good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
• To love what you do and possess the ability to work well under pressure
• Possess a 'can do' attitude, attention to detail and be able to use your own initiative.
