General Manager - Mildenhall & Brandon
£38,000 - £40,000 per annum
Abbeycroft Leisure is looking for a highly motivated and creative individual, with a strong track record of building and sustaining effective partnership work, to take up a new and exciting role within the Trust.
Can you handle a normal day that will include:
- Working with the police to use sport and physical activity as a tool to tackle anti-social behaviour
- Working with local GP’s to examine how health referral routes can be enhanced to deal with long term health conditions in a cohesive way
- Liaising with Forest Heath’s Families and Communities team to use physical activity to engage local communities and improve their health and wellbeing
- Engaging with the Department of Work and Pensions to ensure that opportunities are created for those most in need to enable the use of our leisure facilities and services

Initially you will be leading the development of the new leisure facilities at the Mildenhall Hub. This ground breaking project has national attention and is aiming to locate Leisure, Forest Heath District Council, Mildenhall College Academy, Health, Suffolk County Council, Police, Fire, a library, the Citizens Advice Bureau and DWP all working from the same building. This will create a unique opportunity to create the best public services for the local community, due to open in late 2019.
You will be responsible for running the new facilities in Mildenhall along with the strategic management of Brandon Leisure Centre ensuring it continues to develop and meet the needs of the local community.
You will need to be a strong leader and confident communicator with exceptional organisational skills to enable you to prioritise conflicting demands and deliver to challenging deadlines. You will be resilient with the drive and determination to succeed.
