Cameron House is a luxury five-star hotel located on the South West Shores of Loch Lomond, only 40 minutes from central Glasgow.

Set in picturesque surroundings, this stunning Scottish Baronial Mansion is at the heart of The Cameron House Resort and boasts 136 bedrooms and suites, a choice of dining experiences to suit the occasion including a Michelin Star restaurant, and a family friendly Leisure Club.

In addition Cameron House Resort, which is also proud to include Cameron House Luxury Lodges, have an array of world class leisure facilities including an award winning 17 treatment room Spa with infinity pool, championship standard Golf courses and Marina facilities including our own 45ft luxury cruiser Celtic Warrior.

As we embark on a programme of room refurbishment we are currently recruiting for an Executive Housekeeper to join the Senior Management team at Cameron House. As Executive Housekeeper you are responsible for a team of between 40-50 employees who oversee the cleanliness of public areas and bedrooms, and operate a small in-house laundry which operates 24 hours.

The position of Executive Housekeeper reports to the General Manager and has a senior team of an Assistant Housekeeping Manager and three Housekeeping Supervisors to manage the department.

The day to day duties and responsibilities of Executive Housekeeper will include:

Guest

  • To host your day to day operation, being present and accessible to guests, members, owners, visitors and employees at key times.
  • To define the standards, reflect in SOP manuals, induct and train and monitor consistent delivery.
  • To develop and maintain a quality offering in your area reflective of industry trends and our competitor set.
  • To maintain the presentation and cleanliness in your department.
  • Effective handling, resolve and operational follow up of guest/member/owner queries or complaints, compensating and refunding only as appropriate.
  • Attendance at Weekly operational/business sheet meetings and pre events.

Team

  • To interview, and select quality employees with the skills experience and values to match our needs.
  • To develop and support employees to reach their potential providing recorded training, coaching, feedback, and off job training.
  • To provide effective daily shift briefings and handovers.
  • To create rosters of work with the correct levels of resource to look after business levels, adjusting as necessary.
  • To manage the holiday entitlements of your team in conjunction with company policies and procedures.
  • To provide a participative monthly departmental meeting.
  • To provide the team with regular guest feedback.
  • To carry out probationary reviews and appraisals.
  • To manage absence, misconduct and poor performance within your team.
  • To recognise and reward excellence in your team.
  • To manage your team in conjunction with policies outlined in the Employee handbook.

Profit

  • To maximise revenue through product knowledge training, sales incentives and revenue protection processes.
  • To minimise costs by negotiation of contracts, effective control of stock, and control of breakages and wastage.
  • To minimise loss by effective capture of revenue, ensuring robust processes in place.
  • To protect operating equipment, and ensure adequate kit is available to service the business.
  • To contribute to the forecasting, budgeting and business planning process.

Compliance

  • To comply with all legislation applicable in your area including Employment Law, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Food Safety, Disability and licencing including statutory training.
  • To self- audit standards, co-operate with external auditors and prompty rectify issues raised.
  • Active participation in the Health and Safety Committee and building a H&S culture within your department.
  • Active support of the VIP Employee consultative committee.
  • Fire/Crisis Team Duties in the event of Evacuation

General

  • To keep yourself informed of our business goals and objectives and those of other departments, supporting initiatives and driving a positive culture of excellence.
  • Encouraging the conservation of energy and recycling.
  • Raising the profile of, and advocating Careers at Cameron House where possible on social media, industry events and involvement with Schools Colleges and Universities.
  • The Key Performance Indicators for the role of Executive Housekeeper are Guest Satisfaction, Rooms Division profitability, Employee Engagement, and Health and Safety scores.

Experience required:

  • Previous experience as an Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Manager in a large property (experience in a Resort style property preferred).
  • Strong leadership skills, with proven experience in managing large teams
  • Sound working knowledge of health and safety processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment
  • Due to the location of Cameron House, and the nature of the business own transport is essential.
