Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer – Horizones Health and Fitness Club Woking

Horizones is a friendly and welcoming health club situated within the Hoebridge Golf Club and we have an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructor to join our team.

We are looking for a dedicated, motivated and committed individual who has good communication skills, can work effectively without supervision and handle the day to day jobs involved in making sure the gym runs smoothly and keeping our members happy. You must be approachable and friendly, be enthusiastic about fitness and wellbeing and have good knowledge and experience regarding nutrition and exercise.

What does the job involve?

The job is divided into two parts; a part time fitness instructor role and a personal trainer role, which has excellent earning potential.

As a fitness instructor you will be required to conduct gym inductions in a friendly and helpful manner, design fitness programmes for members making sure they are tailored to suit their goals, teach fitness classes (including spin, circuits and body resistance), clean and maintain the fitness equipment and report any faults, assist with membership sales and give tours to prospective members and develop a good rapport with the members and offer helpful and friendly advice.

As a personal trainer you will be training clients on a one to one basis, giving them exciting and progressive sessions, focusing on their own specific goals.

What hours are you required to work?

As a fitness instructor you will be required to work from 16 to 24 hours per week and be flexible with the times you work, which will include shifts at weekends. The rates are £6.80 per hour plus extra for classes taught during and outside of shift times.

As a personal trainer you will keep 70% of whatever you earn outside of your shift times, which is a lot more than what most gyms offer.

What qualifications and experience do you need to apply?

REP’s Level 3 Personal Trainer certificate

Experience in teaching a range of classes

Be able to design and deliver new and exciting programmes and classes to members

Be knowledgeable about nutrition and how to incorporate this into an exercise routine
