Finance Accountant

LOCATION:  Head Office, Surrey

REPORTS TO:  Finance Manager & Management Accountant

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:  Finance Director, Finance Manager & Management Accountant, Finance Team, Operations Team, Golf Location Administrators

Burhill Golf and Leisure is a well established multi million, multi site, leisure driven business primarily based in the South East/Home Counties.

DEFINITION:

To work with the Finance Director, Finance Manager and Management Accountant and Finance team to support the provision of high standards of financial reporting, management reporting, financial control and financial administration as required within Burhill Group Limited and its subsidiary companies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Activities to be undertaken in the role will be scheduled according to the finance department and business needs. A key skill of the job holder will be the ability to work effectively to structure, prioritise and complete job tasks to meet relevant deadlines.

The following points indicate key areas or work activity they are not fixed or exhaustive.

  • Support finance operations including financial accounting, management accounting and statutory reporting.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of accurate Inter- Company accounts.
  • Work on relevant elements of Sage 200 processes to support monthly, quarterly and annual accounting procedures and ensure the timely production of accurate management accounts and financial accounts for the Group, including Golf Division, Estates and Adventure Leisure.
  • Support the accurate production of weekly sales information.
  • Support the production of monthly Food and Beverage financials.
  • Maintain accurate, up to date reconciliations of all key balance sheet control accounts.
  • Contribute to the completion of quarterly VAT returns for all relevant companies in the Group.
  • Contribute to the production of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting schedules.
  • Support the smooth running of the annual statutory accounts production and audit process by production of relevant information and analysis.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of efficient processes to ensure effective financial control is exercised across the business. This will include assisting with relevant audit checks.
  • With guidance, produce information to support the Group’s annual budgeting process.
  • With guidance, produce information to the support the Group’s annual audit process.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial information to the Finance Director, Finance Manager, Management Accountant and the Operations team as required.
  • With guidance, contribute to any other relevant information production, control or reporting activities required from the finance department.

Candidates are required to have good financial and management accounts knowledge and to be AAT full or part qualified or ACCA or CIMA part qualified wishing to complete.
