Sales Manager - Thornbury, Bristol

RESPONSIBLE TO:       General Manager and indirectly to Head of Sales

Thornbury Golf Centre is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to join its team of HODs and lead its sales team.

The ideal candidate would have experience within a similar role, possess a sound knowledge and understanding of sales processes and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of delivering results and leading a team.

A competitive basic salary, up to 30k plus commission and benefits will be offered to successful candidate.

Some key benefits include complimentary golf on both the main and short course, free range balls, meals on duty and a rewarding commission scheme across multiple sales streams. 

Evening and weekend working is required however a rota will be in place and overseen by the Sales Manager to ensure that the cover is shared amongst the team.

Duties include:

  • Acquiring sales as a result of dealing with incoming prospects and prospects generated from networking and lead generation.
  • Maximising the revenue potential from fully identifying needs and upselling effectively.
  • Maintaining the Club’s online presence via social media and online listings.
  • The Sales Team is responsible for the selling Functions (made up of Weddings, Events, Christmas party nights & lunches), Group Golf and Memberships and delivering to, and beyond targets.
  • The Sales Manager will coach, motivate and target their team and themselves on a daily basis.
  • The Sales Manager will need to build a rapport with HODs and fully understand all aspects of sales from Weddings through to Golf.
  • The Sales Manager will work with both the General Manager and Head of Sales to deliver the required results for the centre.

On offer is a competitive salary of 28k-£30k, with excellent OTE realistically reaching 35k-38k

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Achieving monthly and annual sales targets for Membership, Functions and Group Golf.   
  • Managing the team of sales advisors (and event co-ordinators/administrators where applicable) to achieve the required KPI’s and results.
  • Inducting, training and providing continuous development for each sales advisor.
  • Conducting monthly observational feedback with each advisor.
  • Holding regular team meetings and 121s.

DAILY TASKS INCLUDE:

  • Handling Telephone enquiries following the company standard by fulfilling the criteria set out on the Telephone Enquiry Assessment Forms.
  • Touring prospective members around the course/club following the company standard by fulfilling the criteria set out on the Tour Assessment Forms.
  • Responding to Web Enquiries in a timely manner by telephone where possible.
  • Processing prospect information accurately onto the prospect system and following up all enquiries by setting actions on the prospect system accordingly
  • Processing new memberships, events and group golf bookings onto the system accurately and correctly.
  • Setting, reviewing and managing daily KPI’s.
  • Planning and delivering effective lead generation/networking to produce desired results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Knowing the product, and that of our competitors.
  • Ensuring that all sales procedures are being correctly implemented and used to generate new leads and convert enquiries to business.
  • Being self-sufficient on lead generation, through effective follow up calls, initiating referrals, outreaching and any other means as appropriate.
  • Planning and organising events, rota, workload.
  • Meeting deadlines.
  • Being fully conversant with the Club’s Health and Safety policy and emergency procedures for fire and accident, reporting any accidents in the prescribed manner.
