They help us ensure that we can meet our commitment to sourcing from local suppliers, in turn reducing road miles whilst supporting local communities.
 

WE’RE LOOKING we're looking for creative and talented Sous Chef to join the BaxterStorey team at one of our Heathrow British Airways training sites - could this be you?

In this position, you will be working in the BA staff restaurants, serving staff and people on training quality service and food.

This is a great position to work under the Head Chef, sometimes stepping into his role if he is away and be able to lead the Kitchen. We need someone who has lots of enthusiasm and isn't afraid to come up with new menu ideas.

There is a large kitchen space, ready for you to work with the other line chefs, producing great meals for the British Airways staff.

As the UK's leading independent contract caterer, we offer a personal service and we tailor our services to each client's individual needs.

What will I be doing?

  • Planning, prepare and cook menu items as directed by your Manager
  • To assist with stock taking when required, you will be trained on finance and stock if you don't have the necessary knowledge.
  • To carry out the smooth and efficient running of your section as appropriate.
  • To ensure that staff are given a prompt and efficient service and expectations are consistently exceeded.
  • To be guest focused at all times, approachable and quick to exceed expectations in fulfilling guests’ needs.
 

What traits do I need to have?

  • To be a team player, assisting other team members when necessary.
  • To treat members of the team at location as you would expect to be treated.
  • To demonstrate and instruct kitchen assistants / kitchen porters in food preparation and cooking skills as directed by the Head Chef

Salary: £24,000 per annum
Meals: we provide you with free food & beverages on duty, during your break time
Uniform: you will receive a new, clean uniform from day 1
Training: during your first week there will be an induction, covering Food Safety, Health & Safety and BA customer service hallmarks
Development: opportunities to gain a qualification whilst working as well as a chance to join one of our academies!
Pension & Life Insurance scheme: dependant on contract
