Hotel Reception Apprentice -The Role

An opportunity for a smart, friendly, outgoing young person to start a career in Front of House in this luxury hotel. As a Hotel Reception Apprentice you will earn a salary while gaining nationally recognised training qualifications in Business Administration/Customer Service through our training provider Rewards Training.

You must have good communication skills, be computer literate and have a warm smile! the rest is up to us and our training provider Rewards Training who will work with you to help you achieve your nationally recognised qualifications.

From the time a guest enters the hotel and spa to the time they pay their bill and leave you will be an important part of the guest experience, and you will learn from our team and our training how to make that experience a great one. The aim of your training programme will be to get you competent in the customer service as well as administrative tasks of a Hotel Receptionist at this luxury hotel.

• 5 days per week including weekend shifts. A mixture of early (6.45am start) and late (10.45pm finish) shifts
• Welcoming arrival guests
• Guest check-in and rooming
• Enquiry handling - both in person and on the telephone
• Posting of charges and guest billing
• Taking bedroom reservations
• Producing daily Activity Report for all internal departments
• Upselling facilities and rooms
• Organising porter service where needed
• Balancing the shift and completing 'end of day' procedures

Requirements for Hotel Reception Apprentice

• Excellent standard of personal appearance
• Excellent communicator in person and on the telephone
• Warm and friendly disposition
• Genuine desire to serve our guests
• Organised and good attention to detail
• Accurate data entry and computer work
