Apprentice / Trainee Chef Opportunity - Rowhill Grange, Kent

The Role

A great opportunity to train in a first class environment and receive a qualification through our training provider, Rewards Training.

We have a proven record of taking a young person through our programme and developing them into a Commis Chef ready to take up a role within Alexander Hotels.

Ewan Simpson, our Executive Chef, will guide you through the programme. You will be able to gain from his extensive experience of training in first class hotels including from his time at Claridge’s.

You will be working on rotation across all departments of this 3 Rosette standard kitchen with a dedicated team of professionals. At the same time our training provider, Rewards Training, will guide you through your qualification to ensure your success.

Working with a team of 12 Chefs and 4 Kitchen Porters you will become involved in a whole variety of freshly prepared dishes. Dishes are prepared across our fine dining Grill Room, Elements Brasserie, Afternoon Tea as well as Wedding and Functions menus. You will be trained to adhere to the food safety requirements of the kitchen (completing a Level 2 Food Safety Course)as well as learning to work in a way to control wastage while ensuring excellent standards of food.

Requirements

• Excellent attendance

• Commitment to study while working
• Ability to work 5 days of 7 including weekends (straight shifts only)
• Ambition to achieve Commis Chef position within 12-18 months

The Benefits

40 hrs per week over 5 days

Salaries paid over £2.10* per hour above the National Min Wage for Apprentices

£11,544 per annum, £5.55* per hr (18 yrs +)

£9,776 per annum,£4.70 per hr (17 yr old)

Nationally recognised training through award winning Rewards Training included with this role leading to a full time Commis Chef role within one of our luxury hotels.
