Are you an experience Duty Manager or Operations/Assistant Manager looking for your first General Managers role or a GM at a smaller site looking to progress your skills?

1Life is a forward thinking lifestyle and management solutions company where an exciting position of General Manager has arisen within our Lord Butler Fitness & Leisure Leisure Centre in Saffron Walden, Essex.

Where you will work

The Lord Butler Leisure Centre provides a variety of exercise, relaxation and fun. With a 60 station fitness centre, two swimming pools, group exercise studio, virtual spin studio, squash courts, creche and sports hall there is plenty to support all lifestyles.

Your role

As General Manager you will be enthusiastic, ambitious and customer service orientated individual. You will have demonstrable experience in managing teams ideally within in a leisure centre environment and show to be able to consistently deliver and exceed targets and KPI’s.

The role of General Manager is varied with no 2 days ever being the same. As General Manager you will oversee and run the day-to-day operations of the leisure centre and performance of facilities including fitness, children activities and programming of facilities as well as ensuring exceptional customer service and Health and Safety standards.

In the role of General Manager you will organise lead and mentor staff setting high standards and leading by example. You will need to possess motivational qualities to inspire your teams installing supportive, positive, enjoyable yet professional environment to work in.

You will regularly mingle with customers and clients understanding the needs and acting on feedback. You will also engage with the wider local community, leading on outreach activity, spreading the word and engaging and supporting in community events.
