This role will include travelling around our different sites, but the base will be wherever the nearest Leisure Centre is to where they are currently living.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
- reporting to the Head of Health, Safety & Quality
- membership of the Board’s H&S Committee
- liaison with the Company’s external H&S risk management consultant
- delivering arrangements designed to ensure compliance with “Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools” [HSG179] and other relevant standards and publications
- being the IQL Approved Training Centre Co-ordinator
- managing the training, qualification and refresher training of first aiders, using the RLSS first aid qualification programmes
- managing the training & qualification of lifeguards through the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and their on-going training & competency assessment using the IQL programme
- arranging for the recruitment, training and management of the team of RLSS Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessors at sites
- managing the training of swimming pool managers, including the RLSS National Pool Management Qualification programme
- developing the Company’s generic swimming pool risk assessments and Pool Safety Operating Procedures; approving their site-specific formats and delivery arrangements at sites
- monitoring and reporting on all aspects of swimming pool safety performance, making proposals for its continuous improvement
- contributing to industry bodies in the areas of first aid and safe swimming pool management.
The successful candidate should be:
- an excellent communicator in both spoken and written form
- a current NPLQ holder, a qualified Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessor and preferably a First Aid trainer
- a team player, able to gain the confidence of all with whom s/he works
- a current UK driving licence holder
- willing to travel throughout the UK and, when necessary, stay away from home in order to work at the Company’s offices and sites which it manages.
