SALARY:

Scale 1-3 - £11,577 to £16,217 per annum pro rata.  The grade is all-inclusive and has been set to take account of the working arrangements of the post, i.e. weekends and evening work.  No other enhancements will be paid.

The Library Service has 16 community libraries and 3 mobile libraries serving a diverse and changing environment, providing Internet access and Learndirect courses in many of our libraries. We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, self-motivated and efficient person to work at our central library in Leigh.

Are you customer focused and able to communicate effectively, using CD-Rom, the Internet and printed resources to answer enquiries and facilitate learning?

You will be expected to work under pressure, adapting positively to a busy and demanding workplace. Good organisational skills and the ability to use initiative are essential requirements and you must be able to work speedily and accurately.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)and services to children are an integral part of the library service, as is working with the public, so relevant experience/skills are an advantage.

You will be required to work flexible hours, which include regular evenings and weekends. You need to be able to meet the physical demands of lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, stretching and standing for long periods, and be literate and numerate. An ICT qualification is desirable.

Candidates must be willing to organise and carry out activities for children and families.
