OPERATIONS MANAGER – OUTDOOR ACTIVITY CENTRES - Southampton

Southampton City Council’s Sport and Recreation Services have an exciting and challenging opportunity.

We are looking for a determined and result orientated manager with a successful track record of management of outdoor facilities including sailing centre, outdoor activity and canoe centre, and an outdoor retail shop.

The postholder will have strong leadership skills and substantial experience in operational management of outdoor facilities.

The postholder will be qualified to degree level or equivalent and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

An in-depth knowledge and experience in effective financial budgetary management, people performance management, Health and Safety (especially relating to outdoor), quality standards and systems are essential.

Able to demonstrate a strategic approach to service development and delivery of outdoor facilities, an understanding of funding streams and major project management would be advantageous.

In addition an excellent customer focus, partnership working and exceptional standards in service delivery are a must.
