You must be available to start work immediately. Initially on a short term contract with the potential for extension. We are looking for an experienced Sports Development Manager who has the skills, knowledge and experience to hit the ground running and continue to deliver on existing initiatives and contribute to the development of new schemes. You will ensure that a high profile for leisure provision and healthy living is maintained, aiming to increase participation in Sport and Physical Activity through building partnerships with external organisations, internal bodies, schools and community groups. You will provide assistance with the management and development of staff and services and ensure programmes are delivered to a very high standard inline with the departments key objectives.

To be successful with your application you must be educated to degree level or equivalent in a sports related subject and have 3 years sports development experience that has included leading and managing a team. You will have an indepth understanding of sports related issues in terms of awareness within the community, barriers to participation and how to work with partners in implementing strategies to overcome these issues. Furthermore it is essential that you have energy and drive with a true passion for sport and the desire to drive forward the sports development initiatives to achieve the boroughs objective of creating a thriving and active community.
