We are looking for a highly motivated and committed sports development officer to play a key role in initiating sports development programmes, physical activity opportunities and healthy lifestyles in the local community. This will involve liaising and working in partnership with a wide range or organisations including schools, sports clubs, professional individuals and sports governing bodies.  It is essential that you have previous sports development experience, as you will need to hit the ground running and continue to deliver on existing initiatives and contribute to the development of new sports development schemes. 

The ideal candidate must have a can-do approach to getting things done, boundless enthusiasm, excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to work under own initiative and part of a team. To apply you must have experience in the community, youth and/or sports development field and be qualified to degree level or equivalent.   You will therefore have an excellent understanding of sports related issues in terms of awareness within the community, barriers to participation and how to implement strategies to overcome these issues.  This is an immediate start so would ideally suit someone who is in between jobs or coming to an end of their current contract.
