The Thomas Guy Club is the Sports and Social Club of Guy's & St Thomas' Foundation Trust who are one of the UK’s most respected, largest and successful NHS Foundation Trusts.
We are one of only a few hospital trusts that run a swimming pool within its facilities and have a unique opportunity for a Full time Recreation Assistant to work at our 4 lane, 25-metre swimming pool at Guy's Hospital.
The Recreation Assistant position is a key role within our facilities. It involves Lifeguarding the swimming pool for which you will be responsible for the health and safety of members, schools and clubs within the swimming pool area at all times.
You will ensure that all poolside activities are promoted and run effectively, providing a supportive customer service role, whilst providing personal attention and care to all members through excellent Lifeguarding practices.
Other duties include cleaning, reception work involving debit / credit card transactions and using a pc booking system, carrying out regular pool water tests and attending monthly pool Lifeguard training .
The postholder will be a team player with excellent communication skills who is positive and enthusiastic. If you have the highest operational standards and a determination to make a difference to people, we want to work with you.
You will need to have a current NPLQ (or equivalent) with an IQL Learner Reference Number, be able to pass a swimming and Lifeguarding essentials test and have a flexible attitude to work.
