Business Development Director - Healthcare Soft Services - Home Based / Field - £75,000 - £90,000 plus OTE & Perks

The Role:

The role will focus on developing target operating models for the following three service lines - cleaning, patient dining and portering. The priority will be cleaning and patient dining in the first 6 months with the successful candidate overseeing this in a matrix organisation in conjunction with the two Divisional Operational Directors. It will involve close liaison with our client's central service operations teams and the global healthcare marketing director.

Role Responsibility:

  • Leadership - Effectively lead and manage solution teams to deliver to tender outcomes

  • Provide leadership to bid teams in the use of accepted processes, tools and practices from end to end, including due diligence

  • Design complex win strategies together with bid teams for bids and sales projects, to achieve the segment sales strategy for target clients

  • To manage the Sales team ensuring that all team members have clear, measurable objectives and are motivated to strive towards achieving these objectives and are performing as a high-performance team always.

  • Solution development - for clients and contracts with low to medium value or complexity

Solutions would generally involve single and bundled soft services.

  • Track market developments relevant to target client group for new and emerging solutions

  • Financial and business acumen - Generate insight into the value drivers and needs of the client's business and industry

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience and successful track record in bidding complex bids

  • Experience of managing a team of Business Development managers with a proven track record of driving improvements in their performance and creating high levels of motivation and engagement

  • Proven experience of working successfully in a facilities management environment, including both hard and soft services - International Healthcare experience would be an advantage

  • Proven experience of working effectively in a matrix structure

  • Experience of managing and participating in project teams that work and working with project management disciplines

  • Highly numerate with the ability to understand commercial negotiations

  • A commercial thinker with the ability to understand and guide commercial negotiations

  • Good interpersonal skills, influence and impact, working with others

  • A strong quality orientation and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • An influential and persuasive communicator, with a high standard of written and verbal communication skills. Generating a commitment across the team to achieve strategic objectives.

  • A clear and strategic thinker, able to offer new and innovative solutions.
