General Manager - Charlotte’s W5

Charlotte’s Group is an independently owned Award Winning British Hospitality Group and we are striving towards being the leaders of British Hospitality. We currently operate Charlotte’s Place on Ealing Common (2AA Rosettes, Good Food Guide restaurant of the year 2013) and Charlotte’s Bistro in Chiswick (Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand 2013 and Good Food Guide London Restaurant of the Year 2015) and we are looking for an experienced General Manager to join and lead our third and most recent project Charlotte’s W5 in Ealing Broadway. 

We are continually picking up awards across the group. Our perfect candidate will be driven and will show a real sense of pride for their work and enjoy picking up awards too. We were awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand this year and looking into the future of Charlotte’s W5 we aim to be awarded 2 AA Rosettes in 2017. 

Charlotte’s W5 works with the finest British ingredients from the best suppliers of who we have fantastic relationships with and while it is unique in concept; seasonality and sustainability is a theme which runs throughout the Group. The menu offering is concise but diverse but sizeable and we offer a selection of savoury and sweet dishes in taster, small and large sizes. 

As a General Manager you will manage a team of 30 in a beautiful Victorian stable block lovingly restored to create a modern local hub for Ealing, a 200 capacity venue launched in January 2016. The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience within the London restaurant scene as a General Manager, be able to cope with high volume and be familiar with events. They will be able to demonstrate sound financial acumen – including an excellent understanding of wage budgeting and purchasing and they must be able to drive the business forward with measurable results. They must be self-motivated and exhibit excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be flexible with hours and a good team worker. 

Attitude and aptitude are as important to this role as previous demonstrable experience. The candidate will have an eye for detail and be able to drive standards consistently within the brand guidelines and deliver the best experience for our customer’s every time, based on their needs and whatever the occasion. 

This is a really great one-off opportunity as the scope within the role is so diverse. Charlotte’s is hard work but 100% of the discretionary gratuity goes to the staff, a topic which at interview stage we will touch on as it is a topic very important to us. We are offering a very competitive salary and tronc bonus structure.
