Due to an internal move, we’re looking for a warm and charismatic host to take up the reins at the Dysart Arms in Bunbury.
The Dysart Arms is a truly classic English village pub, with lovely open fires, bookcases scattered all around, lots of old oak and a really pleasant garden adjacent to the village church. We have a classic restaurant style dining room providing full table service together with a number of nooks and crannies that lend themselves to a more traditional pub service.
Running the Dysart Arms will be no mean feat – as the manager, you will have overall responsibility for driving a substantial and profitable business and you’ll have the autonomy to choose your beers and wines, negotiate prices with suppliers and together with your Head Chef, develop your own seasonal fresh food menus.
It sounds like a tall order doesn’t it, but we will empower you to be the boss of your own pub restaurant and really make it your own whilst receiving lots of support and advice from the Chester based central team, as and when it’s needed.
Aside from the knowledge and experience to run a successful business at senior level with an eye for detail, you’ll need to be a real foodie with in-depth experience in a fresh food pub restaurant environment. Our regularly changing menus have a spine of freshly prepared, classic British dishes, complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world – in other words, modern British cookery.
It goes without saying that you’ll also need a passion and sound knowledge of cask ales and wines of the world, and be entrepreneurial at heart with proven financial expertise and business acumen. Most importantly of course, you’ll need to be a natural host, enjoy looking after others and be able to lead a happy crew.
We’ll reward you with a salary package up to £40,000 p.a. (plus benefits) and provide you with high quality free accommodation.
