General Manager - Prestigious Operation - Job Summary

We are recruiting an exceptional General Manager opportunity within a nationally renowned venue. This role would suit an experienced General Manager or an Operations Manager, with a strong knowledge of Contract Catering, Events as well as the F&B aspect of the business.  If you are a commercially astute manager who has a passion for managing large multifaceted operations including, catering (retail), conference & events, and dining then this is the opportunity for you.

The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of managing large operations (preferably with multisite experience) and driving the business forward to the next level of commercial success. You will need to have passion and enthusiasm as well as the ability to manage a very large team, with support from both the Retail Manager and Conference and Events Manager.

General Manager - Prestigious Operation - Role Responsibility

In the role of General Manager your remit will be to manage all aspects of catering, restaurant, corporate, hospitality, conference & events, etc throughout the venue. As an experienced General Manager you will be accountable for driving sales, profit, standards and world class service by leading and inspiring your team. In summary you will need to:

  • Ensure that the catering, restaurant, corporate, hospitality, conference & events, weddings etc are managed in the most effective way to provide a cost effective and world class service to the clients and visitors
  • Move a successful business partnership forward, maintaining excellent relationships and striving for world class status in all areas of operations
  • Oversee and ensure that world class service is in place to all customers and clients in all areas of the business
  • Lead and manage the team, through the Heads of Department to drive a world class operation for both event days and non event days
  • Ensure performance management is carried out to the benefit of all staff via PDP's and ensuring all managers adopt a "coaching" and "mentoring" management style
  • Engage in the recruitment process and control labour cost within budgetary constraints
  • Ensure that training is ongoing and specific to meet the current and future needs of the operation aligned to the service level agreement
  • To provide strong leadership and vision for the operational and support teams
