Role Title: Hotel Controller – Full Time – Heathlands Hotel, Bournemouth

Reporting to: Area/Regional Controller

 

Overall Summary

  • Responsible for Financial Control of all departments in the hotel
  • Provide all relevant control/financial information and assistance to the General/Ops Manager
  • Functional and line responsibility to the Financial Director

Role Objective

The position of Hotel Controller exists to ensure:

  • That the interests of the Britannia Hotel Group are protected at all times
  • That maximum revenue is generated, losses are kept to a minimum and systems exist to control costs
  • That a critical assessment is constantly made on all procedures and practices
  • That attention is drawn to all areas of weakness/concern and that corrective action is taken
  • That all new company procedures and instructions are implemented by the hotel

Main Responsibilities

  • To be organised, numerate, have an eye for detail and an enquiring mind
  • To have a practical and common sense approach to the role
  • Department responsibilities: Wages, Cash & Credit Card Reconciliation, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Revenue Auditing and Food and Liquor Stock taking         
  • To supervise, recruit and train their own members of staff, continually assessing all areas in the Control department
