Junior Sous Chef
Get a taste of how we do things… Sometimes you might not be quite ready as a Sous chef, but just need a little more experience and training to get you there. The Junior Sous role involves assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef to take responsibility for the kitchen department, food cost, ordering, food and health and safety aswell as bring you to a Sous Chef standard; ensuring that all menu dishes are prepared with attention to detail and to the highest standard. You will be required to assist in managing the kitchen brigade, motivate and share knowledge, training and developing chefs within the team. Our dishes allow us the opportunity to showcase some of the best local food producers who share our passion for great local and seasonal products - so you will need to be passionate about food and delivering amazing hospitality to our guests aswell. Junior Sous Chefs must be organised, an excellent communicator, a hands on manager who has excellent attention to detail. Experience of working in a similar quality restaurant is required and an excellent knowledge of food is necessary.
Originally built in 1776, as the 'Mansion House', we've lovingly refurbished the hotel to reflect its nautical past, while adding typical du Vin panache. Original stone stairs and classical columns greet you, with flickering ship's lanterns lighting the way. The courtyard's sail-like awning invites you to dine under the stars. The comfy sofas and low beams of the Snug welcome you for an aperitif, cocktail, or nightcap. Our expert Sommelier in the Laroche tasting room will guide you, while our delicious hearty, locally sourced dishes in our trademark bistro will please you. Our unique function rooms, 'Port' and 'Starboard', are perfect for celebrating, meeting, or private dining.
