GLL Brand Film Long Master
GLL is hiring two Regional Aquatics Managers to cover our East and West London Regions. Aquatics is a growing area of business for us here at GLL, leading to us being the largest operator of public swimming pools in the UK. Both regions have a range of aquatics offerings from swimming and diving to synchro and water-based fitness classes. We cater for both leisure and ‘learn to swim’ participants and aim to serve all sections of the community: we host women’s only sessions as well as a range of lessons, sessions and classes for a mix of ages and abilities. We now teach over 100,000 pupils to swim each week and have 14 million swim visits across our pools per year. We’re proud of the success of our Aquatics product and are now in a position to grow our team regionally. We’re looking for passionate Regional Aquatics Managers to join us and ensure that more people are swimming regularly and that our facilities remain efficient and effective whilst meeting excellent quality standards.
An experienced Aquatics Manager, you’ll understand what needs to be done to facilitate growth. Growth can be due to customer needs, local demographics, regional health improvement initiatives and organisational KPIs and targets. You’ll oversee the growth and development of the swimming product in your region with a focus on workforce development, training delivery and lesson and pool programme reviews – all with the objective of increasing usage, income and a good customer experience. Taking strategic direction from the Central Aquatics Team, you’ll report directly to our Regional Community & Health Manager to ensure that both the GLL and partnership KPIs are being met.
You’ll be passionate about sport and driven by getting more people in the pools in your region – and be able to inspire your wider team to work towards that same result. You’ll thrive on variety and be confident in leading on anything from client meetings to reviewing and improving projects across a diverse range of facilities and even more diverse customer base. This is not a desk-based role, therefore your communication skills will be excellent as you build trust and relationships with a number of internal and external stakeholders. If you have a strong project-management background and a minimum ASA Level 2 teaching aquatics qualification and ideally, a Level 3 in Education and Training (or equivalent experience), we want to hear from you.
In return, we’ll offer the chance to make your mark with the UK’s largest swimming provider at this exciting period of growth. We have a range of benefits including pension scheme, Ride to Work scheme, childcare vouchers, discounted membership at our leisure centres and all the support and development you’d expect from a successful, nationwide business.
GLL is the UK’s largest leisure provider and one of the first and largest leisure social enterprises. Our aim is to get more people, more active, more of the time whilst making leisure and community facilities accessible and affordable. We partner with local authorities to run leisure centres, swimming pools, libraries, children’s centres, spas, events spaces and world-class sporting venues such as the Copper Box Arena and London Aquatics Centre on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park - all under our Better brand. As a not-for-profit organisation, we’re different. Passionate about seeing our communities thrive, we invest back into our facilities, projects and people.
