Oldham Aquatics Swim Team is seeking an Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in the quest for representation at the 2012 Olympics.
With 80 swimmers currently in the Elite Performance Training Scheme the new Assistant Coach is expected aid the Head Coach in the recent successes the team as attained. The position has a leading role in supporting the Head Coach and Head of Swimming in developing a clear sporting pathway for swimmers of Oldham.
The successful applicant will be expected to work through the politics of local swimming clubs and learn to swim schemes within education and OCLL to maximise the potential of the swimmers in Oldham. Strong leadership and direction will be required for athletes, parents and supporting coaches and volunteers.
The Assistant Coach will work for Oldham Community Leisure Ltd an Industrial and Provident Society, set up by Oldham Council to deliver sporting pathways and education for health improvement of Oldham residents.
The applicant will hold an ASA Level 2 Teaching/Coaching (including unit 4) and be working towards a UKCC Level 1 & 2 coaching qualification and must posses or be working towards a RLSS/NARS rescue test or equivalent.
The closing date for applications will be Friday, 29th of August 2008.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police check.
